These photo's are from the last shoot with Renee . There is something very animal -like and feline about them . I really love these . Renee has still got " it " . She's also a great photographer in her own right .
I was really looking forward to shooting with Liz Ashley today but she flaked . Canceling out is one thing , I mean shit happens , but doing it 5 minutes before an appointment is flakey . Right now she is on my "list " which is not a good place to be .

The Fall

The fall here in New York has been so beautiful this year . I've been getting out and about a bit and the weather has been perfect . Right about now the leaves have been changing into beautiful shades of oranges , yellow , and red . Crazy . One day i'll have to incorporate all that into a painting . I tried to check out the mobile art show Chanel has put on in central park this weekend . The show is supposed to be for the public but it's a real hassle to get tickets because it's sold out . Oh yeah , the tickets are free yet they're sold out . THe show is public , yet impossible to see. Go figure . Here are some fall pictures and a few photo's of a beautiful model that wishes to remain anonymous for now . Enjoy.

I didn't shoot many models all summer , practically none . The biggest shoots I had all summer were shooting the mermaid parade out at Coney Island and going to Paris to visit my beautiful girlfriend . I shot lots of photo's over there . Oh yeah , in the beginning of the summer I went out west to the four corners area and shot tons of photo's in many of the beautiful locations out there . I've mostly been working away on my paintings all summer in solitude . I painted more than I have in a long time and that's saying a lot .During the summer months many models travel so there isn't much opportunity to shoot but once September hits , BAM! they all come out in full force . I shot Ariel again recently . This time in my studio . I really like working with her , she's always on time , upbeat , and such a cool person . She's easy to photograph , you just have to focus on her eyes . I also recently photographed Katy C , whom I had never worked with before . Katy is an amazing world wind from Manchester who I really got on with . We shot in the basement of this east village bar and the photo's look to me as if they were shot in the Vampire's lair or something . At least that's what I think. Enjoy !

I haven't written anything here for a while . I'm not really that motivated to keep up with this at the moment . Besides this blog I also keep a diary and sketchbooks which are kinda like diaries as well . It's a lot , maybe too much . Anyway I was feeling kind of down about shooting models for a while and then along comes Ariel . What a cool girl to work with . She is easily inspiring to be around and very upbeat . I really love the photo's that came from our shoot . They look great . Technically though I need to perfect my use of indoor lighting . It's the one area that I know I could do a lot better and need too . I feel pretty confident in other areas but lighting for me is a week point . I think that when I return from my trip i'll have to by a new lighting setup . a how-too book and start working . Till then enjoy Ariel........

The last shoot I had was with Raelyn Mouse . I have to say I thought it was pretty strange . She was polite and not only on time but actually early ! Now there's a first . What bugged me out was that she showed up to my place without shoes or socks . I'm not judgemental and I like to think I have an open mind but to be walking around the city sans footwear is not very practical . Our shoot went O.K. my flash broke so I had to work without it . I got some good shots . At the end of our shoot though I question myself as to wether or not I want to continue doing this .
I just came back from a great southwestern trip with my girl . I'm going to post the photo's soon .

Shoot with Theda

I had a great shoot with Theda a couple of weeks ago in the bottom of this bar called Lit . It's funny ,the first shoot we ever did was in this sun drenched apartment . Through no fault of hers the pictures didn't turn out too well . I started to think alot about her look and what would best suite her . No more sun drenched apartments . I wanted to go dark, grainy ,edgy . The second shoot we did was much better . I felt as if I was capturing more of her personality . This second shoot was inspired by the films of Dario Argento . The bottom of lit looks like a combination torture chamber and wine cellar . I thought this would be great for Theda . I didn't like all the photo's we shot but the ones I did like were perfect . They're dark and cinematic.

Lately I've been in a creative whirlwind . I think that this yuear I will be producing some of my best work ever . I haven't shot much since before leaving to Brasil . This weekend I took out my trusty Pentax 6x7 and shot a bit down there . I was pretty amazed at how many people were down there and the park wasn't even officially open yet . I haven't shot many models lately but I don't want to give up the momentum I had before leaving . I really felt that I was developing my own style and voice . I think i'm going to start shooting again.
Sometimes life is filled with an enthusiasm that you never want to end.

Rio / Porto Alegre 2008

I just got back from another amazing trip tp Brasil . This trip was filled with ups and downs but ultimately it was pretty amazing . Most of the downs came in the form of things that I could not control . For instance on my way down the flight was delayed due to bad weather . We finally take off and about an hour into the super turbullent flight this woman has a heart attack . WE land I miami but because the flight is soooo late We miss the connecting flight and I have to spend the night and the next day in Miami .I finally arrive in Rio and the place i'm supposed to be staying in isn't ready . I ended up having to move around 3 timers in the course of the trip . Booking my tickets to Porto Alegre was no vacation either . Anyway enough complaining . The trip was great . Porto Alegre was an incredible city . Slightly cooler than Rio but beautifully comfortable . The city itself has a higher percentage of middle class than Rio or Sao Paulo therefore smaller favelas . The people were genuinely friendly and always very helpful . When I told people I was from New York most were shocked that I would travel so far to their city . THere is a higher percentage of blondes here . More of a European heritage going on . I don't have to mention women here . I think most know that there are some of the most beautiful women on the planet in Brasil . Porto Alegre is no exception. I would not go there however if you don't speak some portuguese . Not many people speak english . You might have a hard time .
After my P.A. trip I made my way back to Rio . On my return I decided to make the most of the beach and take time out each day to hang there for at least an hour . I have been there many times and at this point have many friends . I went to a birthday party for an old friend and a great barbecue out in Recreio . Goods times spent with good people . I'm back now and fully charged with new inspiration.

Jade

This week I had a great shoot with model Jade Indica . It was the second time shooting with Jade and the results are very, very sexy . Jade has a great attitude while shooting , she's upbeat , lively , and not afraid to try new things . She's also very reliable . I definately want to work with her again .
Last night I saw the movie "No country for old men ". Wow! How that movie ever one an oscar for best picture is beyond me . I thought it was crap . THe acting in the film is good, that much i'll give it , but it's the kind of film you watch and wonder when it's going to start getting better . Befiore you know it it's over , the credits are rolling and your left wondering why you paid $10 for this shit . "Best PIcture ?" I'm callin' bullshit on that !
I'm getting ready to leave in a few hours for Brasil for 2 weeks . I can hardly wait . Stayed tuned there will be some greta fflics from this adventure .

This past week I went out To BK to shoot with Sinead again. I like her a lot. She's got a great blog if you are fortunate enough to catch it. It's funny , I used to see her out and about dancing at clubs an stuff and she was this diminutive girl. Then I didn't see her around for awhile. Fast forward to the next time I saw her and her Tits were HUGE ! I mean like DANG ! Needless to say she's pretty voluptuous . I really like my photo's of her . I want to shoot some great portraits of her someday .
So we finally got some snow this week. Finally ! I awoke on Thursday to see big flakes coming down and got so excited I grabbed my Pentax 6x7 put on some layers of clothes and walked around my nieghborhood and into the park taking photo's . I was so excited , I felt like a kid. I don't like the winter much but I really love snow. Go figure . Maybe it's because it makes everything in the city seem so clean and pure.

Mr. Impatient

Right now i'm feeling very impatient . I have a million things i'm working on simultanoeously and it seems like everyone around me is moving in slow motion . Am I surrounded by idiots ? Next week i've got to put aside everything and work on my taxes . That sucks . No more procrastinating . I had a great shoot the other day with Renee King . She's one of my favorite models to work with and a really good photographer as well . This new set we shot was one of the best yet . O.k. that is all.......

Lately going out in NY has been mad boring . It's been that way for quite a while . I don't know what it is but there doesn't seem to be anything progressive or dangerously fun going on . It may be that everyone is has gone back to their caves to hibernate for the winter . I could include myself in that mix . I love staying home and working or going to the studio . Let me know when something is happening. Oh yeah.

By the way Sinead is an incredible model to work with . She's always happy an upbeat . People like that inspire me .

VIVA LAS VEGAS !!!!!

I went out To Vegas over the weekend to A.) visit my friend Thomas, surgeon extraodinaire, and B.) to check out the 2008 AVN trade show .For those Unfortunate enough never to have traveled to sin city las Vegas is like an adult entertainment biosphere. Once inside any one of the numerous casinos or strip clubs all time and space cease to exist . All that matters, all that one is aware of is the present . That's about it . Personally I love this town but like many things in moderation. I wanted to get some great shots of the town an maybe catch a pornstar or 2 . Both of these missions were accomplished . I took some great shot of some of the marquee on the strip and all the craziness going on. Those will soon be posted here. Next stop was the convention . At $80.00 a pop I couldn't believe the line to get in. Who am I kidding ? I was one of those who shelled out $$$$$ for this carnal experience . I guess in my mind I wrote it off as a photography expense . I was amazed at this place . It was just like any other trade show only stuffed to the gills with gangbang bukkake queens and their followers . I quickly ran into a good friend who has taken it upon himself to personally manage the career of an up and coming starlet . Wether I by that or not is up for grabs but what I do know is that he arranged a private photo session with said starlet and that was enough . That alone was worth the price of admission . I continued to wander around the show taking random photo's of the action . I must say i've never seen that much silicone under one roof ever . I caught a few photo's of Nina Hartley who still looks absolutely amazing and the only girl I was star struck by : Belladonna . After a few hours of silicone insanity I was ready to leave and get down to my photo session with said starlet. Said starlet was pretty amazing . She was a fresh faced 18 year old latina beauty who just oozed cuteness . Who took some really sexy lingerie photo's and a few back shots which I thin came out great . I tried to get her to do a few adult style poses but she wasn't into it at that moment . She was coughing away and not feeling too sexy at the moment . Nevertheless the girl couldn't help but radiate heat . She was a hottie in every sense of the world . As I finished up our session I really hoped that a year from now she wouldn't be spoiled by the business . I gave her a little advice and off we went to McDonald's ( her idea ) For a bite to eat .
VEgas is a crazy town that every once in a wild I need a dose of . Not a huge dose , because you could really lose yourself in the town, but just enough to remind me that these things still exist .

Coney Island

Coney Island has been a part of my life since day one. As a kid I would go there and Play for hours in the sand, building castles and forts and watching them be washed away with the tide at the end of the day. At that time Coney was much seedier than it is today . All kinds of druggie types would hang out under the boardwalk which you still had access too. I didn't have much interest in the rides at that point because most of them looked pretty dilapidated . I also remember gangs hanging out on the boardwalk. Coney island was much more differant then than it is today . But then again most of New York is that way.
Sometime in the early 90's I began searching for new subject matter for new paintings and photographs . It was at this point that I realized that Coney Island was one of the few remaining vestiges of old New York still left . In it's history it had been through some major changes Coney Island still retained the same charm and spirit that keeps bringing families back year after year. . All of New York changes, Now more than ever , But few things can retain the inherent character that they were born with . It was with this realization that brought me to focus on Coney island as a body of work. Here are a few images , you will see more in the future.
